The Pre-sessional programme in English and Academic Skills is designed for students wishing to attend British universities. The programme is open to both undergraduates and postgraduates and consists of 13, 9 or 5 weeks of intensive study. The programmes are run from June through to September.
Aims of the course:
Course content includes general and academic English and study skills, and an introduction to the language of the students' subject. Students are also trained in library research skills and accessing the University's computing system and the Internet.
Teaching is in small groups of no more than 14 students; in addition, there are regular tutorials. Group and project work provide training in independent learning.
Middlesex University is located in north London with local train stations providing quick access into central London. Accommodation is provided in the university's halls of residence which are fully equipped and furnished with self-catering facilities.
There is a full social programme which includes on-campus activities and local excursions.
Facilities and student services available include university libraries, multi-media computer and language labs, a refectory and Sports Centre.
In-sessional English Programme
Students continuing their studies at Middlesex can participate in our free service which provides classes in English for Academic Purposes and tutorials for students needing extra help with their English.
