Programme One : 29 June - 18 September 2009
This 12 week programme is for you if you are commencing your degree in
October and are one IELTS band or equivalent below the required English
language admissions requirement.
Programme Two : 27 July - 18 September 2009
This 8 week programme is for you if you are commencing your degree in
October and are 0.5 IELTS band or equivalent below the required English
language admissions requirement.
Programme Three : 24 August - 18 September
This 4 week programme is for you if you are commencing your degree in
October and wish to refresh your knowledge of English and experience a
short period of orientation to living and studying in the UK.
For this programme, you will need to have :
IELTS or equivalent certification must be dated 2008. IELTS scores should not show a 'jagged profile'. No component score should be more than 0.5 below your overall IELTS score.
Whatever your score, you should make every effort to improve your English before coming to Portsmouth.
Progression from Programmes One and Two depends on you satisfying all of the academic conditions for your course and also making satisfactory progress on the pre-sessional programme. Satisfactory progress means :
